How to make handmade sided backless blouse

Posted on January 21, 2012 by

I am always trying to experiment creating clothes without using sewing machine because I know there are many people who wants to create their own clothes but do not know how to use sewing machine or do not have budget to buy sewing machine.

Now, while thinking of something to blog. Something came into my mind and start to get my things for sewing. I am glad that I was able to create a new design. In this post, you will learn how to make handmade sided backless blouse.

Now, let’s start the things you need:

Stretchable flowing fabric
Scissor
Thread (Near color to your fabric)
Measuring Tape

I used pink here because I do not have black, green and red thread anymore. Since pink is close to red I decided to choose it.

Before you start creating your very own handmade sided backless blouse.

The first step is to measure your self:
From underarm to waistline (A) and then measure half of your whole waistline (B). Look at the picture below:

Second step: Cutting the fabric. For sided backless blouse, you need to cut the fabric like the picture below:

Photobucket

For the string, you need to cut 3. The length depends on the long you want it to be. In my case, the length is 18 and the width is 2.

After that, you need to roll it like this in the picture:

and then, on the 3 side of the fabric you need to sew like this below:

After doing that, it should look like this at the back:

and this in the front:

Now, we are done. Yes, it is finished. Take a look at my picture below: (NO MAKE UP, ONLY LIPLOSS…LOL)

Here’s the back:

Just posing….. lol

I decided to wear tube for my inner wear. I want to look something sexy but not too much because I do not have beautiful figure.

I hope you got an idea of my new blouse experiment. What do you think about the design? Well, if you’re interested to make your very own handmade sided backless blouse. Why not? It is so easy to do and it will not cost you a lot of money. Stretchable fabrics are not expensive. Making this blouse will only cost you 150 pesos (around 3.57 in dollars)

hey this is great! my mom is a dressmaker, i know a little with sewing machines but never really had the passion to pursue dressmaking. I can sew with my hands too but just not so passionate to be artistic.. for me it’s a talent that i dont have! hehe.. great one girl!!

  14. Nancy says:

Funny but when I first became a hands on mom, this is my way of shooing boredom away. I wasn’t used being at home all the time so gotta do something to keep me occupied.

I do baby clothes most of the time. I got a handy sewing machine but rather not use it. Hand-sewed items seems to last longer than done with the machine.

  15. nice! perfect for beach outing :)

First of all, thank you for visiting my blog and the comment as well (http://www.mazydoll.com/2011/12/from-necklace-to-cordless-phone.html).
