Interview with promising fashion designer of Angeles City Brit Tripudio

Paige:Tell us something about your self
BRIT: hello everyone i’m Brit Tripudio, I’m a Fashion Design Student at Fashion Institute of The Philippines. 21 years of age from Angeles City I’m an upcoming Fashion Designer here in A.C. I’m also a dancer Choreographer.

Paige:What comes into your mind when you hear the word “Fashion”?
BRIT: first thing that comes into my mind when i hear fashion is Art. why art? Because art is everywhere just like fashion, and on my opinion most of the designers here in the Philippines get their inspirations from Art works. Which is a dynamic combination.

Paige:When did you realize that you want to be a fashion designer?
BRIT: When i was 12 while watching FTV. haha its a funny story actually, when i was young my relatives would always say that i’ll be a hairdresser a “mananahi” a make- up artist. but little do they know that i really want to pursue is Fashion, until i was 19,when i was in college, i was really confused at that time i dont know what to do with my life, like what’s my next goal? i suffered a quarter-life crisis and what i did is I dropped out of college and went to Manila and pursue my Fashion career…

Paige:How can you describe your fashion style?
BRIT: my style, is very trashy, messy and chic. VERY STREET FASHION. but sometimes when i’m bored and have nothing to wear for my everyday busy life i would get my old clothes from my “baul” and style them so i could use it again (recycle people! very cost efficient!)

Paige:Who is your inspiration for designing clothes?
BRIT: My Lines and Shapes 2012 spring collection, was very literal. i was inspired to do this collection because i was in love at that time. and my major inspiration was rihanna’s song We Found Love. then after seeing the video last year, i was like okay now i have a peg for my collection!

Paige:What clothing line are you currently designing?
BRIT: after Lines and Shapes, i will design a ten piece collection for my new line “Danger Bitch” I always want my collection edgy and of course fierce! and after that i will release the part two of Lines and Shapes and i will showcase a new collection called ” COULEUR” French word for Colors

Paige:Do you have upcoming fashion show? (You can also tell us about your previous fashion show)
BRIT: i was so psyched last saturday! My fashion show I.Merge was a success i was so happy that i produced something like this, young kapampangan talents showcasing what they can do best in the industry of fashion, and i must say im proud that i was part of it! My next fashion show will be on Feb Month. but not yet sure about the date because i’m still planning on going to Korea to visit my family there…

Paige:What is your fashion motto?
BRIT: “Fashion is Art, Fashion is Fierce, Fashion is in my heart just like the Guy who sacrificed his life for me.”

Paige:Who is your favorite fashion designer?
BRIT: international:
1. Herve Leger the bandage designer
2. Balmain
3. Balenciaga
4. Alexander Mcqueen

Paige:Can you provide some pictures of your design?

Paige:What is your advice to people who wants to be a fashion designer like you?
BRIT: My advice to those teenagers who want to be a Fashion Designer, or to be in the field of fashion, yes it is hard to penetrate the world of fashion but “dont ever abandon your dream” do not give up on ur dream it is the only thing that will keep u on striving. =)
